Ponytail Falls Hike

We started off at Horsetail Falls. Mr. N was disappointed when he didn’t spot any horses. This hike has two waterfalls within easy hiking distance.

A quick stop to take a photo of the dogs on a rock. Mr. N has his usual serious photo face on but Sage was more interested in watching the scenery, i.e. keep a sharp eye out for squirrels.

Ponytail Falls! Aptly named. Doesn’t that moss look like a scrunchie? I tried taking a photo of Mr. N behind the falls but the results were unsatisfactory.

Mr. N prefers posing by trees and greenery than the waterfall. He hates getting wet and that’s an unfortunate side effect when you’re walking by falls.

We stopped by the viewpoint and admired the view. I had to convince Mr. N not to peer over the edge.

What does your dog enjoy most about hikes?

Looks like a great hike! Barley's favorite part of a hike seems to be just getting out of the neighborhood–and I think she kind of likes posing for pictures, too, most of the time 🙂

You are so cute, Mr. N! Looks like a pretty place to hike, but it is a bummer you don't like getting wet! We love to discover new places, it is always a fun thing to do.

Can't say I've done a lot of hiking with Harley, he's not really into that sort of thing. I have a feeling Jax is going to be my more adventurous doodle so I'm hoping to get out there more this spring and summer.

Oh my goodness, Mr. N is just the cutest & extremely photogenic 🙂 We love hiking past streams, rivers, and water falls ~ thankfully our pups enjoy wading through bodies of water. They're certainly a great way to cool off on those warmer days.

It looks like a gorgeous place to hike! My dog, Nelly, is not a fan of getting wet either. The dogs I used to hike with had a great recall, so their favorite thing was probably being allowed to be off leash.

Living in the city I do not have many opportunities to do hiking with Layla but when I am not working what I try to do is explore other parks which she loves, she will wander ahead of me off leash but never too far phew. I actually read yesterday that some of our beaches will be off leash beaches for longer hours this summer which will be great.

What a funny waterfall! 🙂 Jasmine loved hiking. Particularly exploring new places. Cookie’s needs are different. As long as there are critters to hunt, she can stay in one area indefinitely.

Pretty place! My pups love the smells and the wind. They tip their noses up, close their eyes, and just smell all the smells. One of my favorite things they do. Very blissful.
